Our community at Open Minds &.Earth Goddess Yoga is excited to announce this new series with a very special instructor! Drop into a single class or join us and our community for all 3 in this monthly series.

Qoya classes are embodiment practices based on the idea that through movement we remember. We remember that our essence as women is wise, wild and free. Wise, wild and free also draw reference to the movement forms that we practice in a Qoya class:

🧘🏽‍♀️Wise: calling on the wisdom of yoga, meditation, ritual and contemplation.

🦅Wild: the creative and authentic expression in dance

🎶Free: the freedom to feel pleasure in the body through feminine or sensual movement by choosing what feels nourishing to you.

Qoya is also based on the idea that there is no way you can do it wrong. If it feels good to you, that's how you know you are doing it right. It’s a physical movement practice that allows us to shift to be in the body, and we do this by tuning into the feeling.

Expect to weave components of ecstatic dance, ritual, & movement similar to Earth Goddess Yoga (for those of you who are regulars to Open Minds & earth Goddess Yoga)

The intention of a Qoya class is to drop out of your head, and into your body by following the physical sensation of truth in your body.

Each class has a theme mixed with rituals, community sharing, and a guided journey back into the body with epic music. We have so much fun moving, sweating, stretching and being in community together.

Each class theme will build upon the next and move you through a journey of Coming Home To Yourself.

More about Qoya:

Each Qoya Class has the following core components and a unique theme:

1. The teacher prepares for class with her own rituals to create sacred space.

2. The class theme is introduced, and everyone is invited to pull an oracle card for guidance for the day's class.

3. Breathing to integrate mind, body, and spirit into the present moment and intention setting to initiate a co-creative relationship with the divine.

4. Circle through each part of the body to release tension or rigidity, and begin to shift the focus from how it looks to how it feels.

5. Heart Opening to connect to the the rhythm of the music and the rhythm of your own heart, and begin the longest journey we ever take - six inches from the head to the heart.

6. Hip Opening through sensual movement to release shame and shyness and replace it with bold reveling in pleasure.

7. Sun Salutations/Dancing Warrior Sequence to access the gifts of yoga by experiencing movement as prayer and bringing our awareness of mind, body, spirit, and energetics into alignment.

8. Shadow Dance to honor the challenges in our lives and dance with them rather than pretending that they are not there.

9. Shaking each part of the body to intentionally release what no longer serves us and reclaim our vibrant nature and zing!

10. Choreographed Dance to create more mind/body connection and to have fun!

11. Free Dance to move into our full authentic creative expression and feel our spirit/soul embodied and dancing.

12. Community Connection to use language to anchor any healing or epiphanies and also be a witness to another woman as she shares.

13. Final strengthening, stretching and relaxation to integrate all the benefits of class.
